My Birthday

Ok, I am letting you all on a secret, it was my birthday on Saturday the 16th!

I am in a birthday swap in my Yahoo group and recieved all these wonderful goodies!!

Craig and I went down to the beach to have lunch and on the way stopped of at a place called Cataract Dam. It is part of the water catchment area for the Sydney basin and the water levels have been down to around 30%. With all the rain we have had this year so far, the dam is now at 99% capacity. I still don't think they are going to lift our water restrictions though LOL

This photo is taken from the top of the dam and is off the jet letting some water out.

This photo is the top of the dam wall:You can see there is not much room to the top of the dam wall that is why they are letting some out.

What Age do you Act??

You Act Like You Are 24 Years Old

You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.
hehe very funny LOL!!! I haven't grown up !!!

RAIN RAIN RAIN!!!

For the second time this week we are having torrential rain, this time accompanied by a storms.

Today it started again and the flooding is getting to the highest levels we have seen in the 21 years we have lived here!
Here are some pics we took before it got dark but it is actually a lot higher now, just can't get photos in the dark. These photos are of the our back verandah, now completely under water.
Notice the tape around the tall pot?? Craig knocked it over with the lawn mower LOL

These photos are of the soccer fields at the back of our place. One end is completely over the drain, the storm water tunnel is blocked and is at least 12ft high!! The tunnel was put in to stop the field flooding but unfortunatley it is so blocked up with rubbish and reeds that no water is getting away!!
We are quite high above the fields but it is over 12 ft high at one end and at least 4ft at the other end so it is a bit of a worry LOL. I hope it eases up overnight or we will be flooded in tomorrow! What a shame, can't get to work LOL.

The road was closed the other day due to flooding and it was nowhere near as bad as this.

The photo below is what it should look like!
